SONG OF THE WEEK

This week's Song of the Week reminds us that life is a give-and-take process in which you must give and receive, listen and talk. The song provides energetic encouragement to go out there and be your authentic, awesome self.

Life's a dance, you learn as you go.
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow.
Don't worry 'bout what you don't know,
Life's a dance, you learn as you go.

O IS FOR ORANGE GINGER TOFU STIR FRY

So before you go ugh Tofu, bear with me. If you honestly are anti-tofu, you can substitute chicken in this recipe, but give tofu a try.  We do not have any products that begin with the letter O, but we do have several recipes. So this week it is all about Orange Ginger Tofu Stir Fry.
One of the things I like about tofu is that it is like a blank canvas. It absorbs whatever flavors you infuse into it. In this case, orange and ginger. Just how they say that we as infants are born as blank slates, we pick up all kinds of things throughout life by the environments we grow up in and the people we grow up with. I would argue we and tofu are not completely blank slates as tofu has its own textures (silken, soft, medium, firm, extra firm), people are also born with some innate personalities (some babies just seem to be born happy).
A friend of mine suggested I pick another O recipe, thinking that I might turn some people off with a vegan recipe. Perhaps, but where we would be in this world, if we were not exposed to new flavors, foods, preparation ideas. I am eating a vegan diet, but that does not mean, at least for me, that I cannot discuss or even prepare meat products for my friends. It is about meeting people and honoring who they are and where they are in their journeys.

THE EFFECT

Sometimes we think it is all about us
but there is so much more.
We may not see the effect.
we may not feel it
We may not taste it
or touch it
or even sense it
but it is there.
We call it the ripple effect,
the butterfly effect
it is about us recognizing
how every action
creates a series of reactions
which create effects
we may never be aware of.
We think we do not matter,
but we do.
We forget we are part of
something bigger than ourselves
but we are.
Everything we do,
or do not do,
has an effect on the world around us.
We are part of
something bigger,
something more powerful,
something more connected
then we sometimes realize.
Just because we may not see it,
or be aware of it
does not mean it does not exist.
This is why we must be mindful
of all that we say,
think,
feel,
do and
believe
as it all has an
effect

THANK YOU

Dear Ultimate,
Thank you for all you have been doing for me. I am not always as positive and grateful as I could be. There are days I let the fear of what almost happened during the last attempt to do a procedure on me color what might happen during this next attempt. Yes, I could have died, but I did not and for that I am grateful. Yes, putting me on the surgical table again is risky, but it is a different surgeon, a different hospital, a different team of specialists, and they have all the knowledge from what happened the last time
Yes, it is scary, but I have to remember Dr Broderick’s words that she would not put me on the table if she could not safely take me off the table alive. I have to remember that she will be able to see things because of the Ultrasound Dr who will be with her. They did not have that the last time. I have to trust her and know she is doing everything she can to find out what is growing inside me, remove it, treat it, and keep me safe.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

We all have the right to experience happiness

SONG OF THE WEEK

What a song to wake up to this morning .I have not heard this song in forever. However, it reminds me that the only way you will understand the true worth of your talent is if you show up, play the game the best you can, and shine. We are each rock stars. So go through this and each day and let your talent and gifts shine

Positive vibe lyrics:

Hey, now, you're an All Star, get your game on, go play
Hey, now, you're a Rock Star, get the show on, get paid

N IS FOR NONSTICK DOUBLE GRILL PAN

What do Grilled Basil, Spinach & Honey Pizza, Beef & Mushroom Sliders, Skinny Caesar Salad With Grilled Romaine, and Grilled Chicken & Pepper Party Sandwiches have in common? Simple they are just four of a wide variety of recipes you can make on our Nonstick Double Burner Grill Pan. I had two options this week. I could talk to you about some of our nylon cookware or our nonstick double grill or griddle, so I went with my favorite, the Nonstick Double Grill Pan.
As many of you know I have a hectic life balancing three jobs, time with Zoe, time with the Ultimate and time for me. I need cookware that I can trust and is going to make meal prep easier for me. That is in part what this piece of cookware does.  I have spent less time cleaning this cookware than I did cooking in it. In part it is because of the 4 layer surface treatment which allows food to wipe off and unlike other nonstick cookware, this is also dishwasher safe. Another thing I love is that I do not have to be intentional about grabbing the nylon utensils as the construction of these pans allows me to use metal utensils and not worry about scratching them. The other thing I appreciate is that the flat bottom allows for even and consistent cooking. Of course, I love the lifetime guarantee, although I doubt I will ever be using it.

PRAYING

Sometimes when I pray,
I wish I could forget
my personal agenda,
my list of what I think I need.
I wish I could lay
it all down
and focus on trusting
the one to whom I am
praying
If I trust you
when I am praying
then I remember
you know what is best,
not me.
Today I release the conflict
I free myself of the confusion
between what I want and
what you want for me.
I thank you for knowing
what I need,
and knowing that I do not
always know best
even when I think I do.
So thank you for not always
listening me while I
pray

STAYING CALM

He walked on water
because of his faith
and his calm.
He slept through the storm
because of his faith
and his calm
Staying calm
in the midst of the storm
helps us all
stay afloat.
Staying calm
helps others
to stay calm.
Staying calm
reduces my temptation
to create waves
and stir up the situation.
Today, I am staying calm
in the midst of the storms
and know that everything
will be ok.

Peace is in every step, do you feel it

SONG OF THE WEEK

I love this song because it reminds me to take time away from the computer and spend the day cuddling with my boo, having fun with friends, and honoring the important relationships in my life. Something we all need to do sometimes https://youtu.be/npbiMJzNJII

M IS FOR MICROWAVE PASTA COOKER

I love Pampered Chef’s Microwave Pasta Cooker. One reason I love it is that I live with a finicky eater. I love my wife, but she never quite knows what she wants to eat. So this is perfect for those nights when she doesn’t want what I had planned on or had already made. I can whip together a single serving of a pasta or grain or veggie in about 10 minutes.
That aside there are some features I appreciate. For example, the silicone lid has vent holes, which let steam and water escape. This means there is no water boiling over in the microwave. This means one less thing for me to clean. The silicone lid also works as a strainer when I need it to, so I do not have to dirty my stainless-steel colanders unnecessarily. Plus, everything is dishwasher safe.
The Microwave Pasta Cooker reminds me of some of my more challenging days Sometimes we all have days where life triggers us and we need safe ways of venting without making a mess. We each need spaces and people in our lives who are our vent holes. They are the ones we go to when the pressure of life is overwhelming and we need to drain off of us that which we no longer need.
Another feature is that the ceramic dish can go from the microwave to the table, so there’s only one dish to wash. When you have a busy life, anything that can save you time cooking, serving, and cleaning is helpful. It also fits perfectly in our Microwave Bowl Cozy Set, but that is a story for another time. Well maybe not – lol. You can put the Microwave Pasta Cooker inside the Microwave Bowl Cozy. This was you do not need an extra hot pad or pot holder. I love that I can just pull it out of the microwave and not have to worry about burning my hands.
I use the two together so often that I forget that they are two items and not one. A friend of mine and I were talking about sacred writings recently and I asked her what her two favorite writings were. She said the Bible and another book. I had to remind her that the Bible was a collection of smaller writings. She was so use to using them all together, that she had stopped thinking about them as separate. Sometimes practices like praying and journaling, or prayer and meditation go together so seamlessly that we forget they, like the Microwave Pasta Cooker and Microwave Bowl Cozy set, are separate items.

WHAT DO YOU SEE?

What do you see,
when you look at me?
Do you see my skin color,
my weight,
my wheelchair,
my sex,
my age, or
do you see more?
Do you see
the Divine in me,
do you see me as a
Divine original?
Do you see the grace,
wisdom,
mercy,
love,
compassion of
the Divine?
When I look at you
what do you want me to see?
Learning to see the
Sacred in everyone
is a practice,
a gift,
a way of being able to see
God’s presence on earth.
May we practice seeing
the Divine in each other, as
we use each other as mirrors,
which reflect the goodness and
beauty of the Infinite.
